Solution overview

LHS BSCS on the HP Integrity servers combine next-generation technologies to create a powerful business support solution that responds to the challenges facing the telecommunications industry.

LHS BSCS is a scalable, modular customer management, rating, and billing solution that can be installed quickly and is able to support innovative marketing and pricing of telecommunications services. BSCS is based on a client/server architecture with a Unix operating system on the server side and Microsoft Windows operating systems on the client side.

BSCS key features

  • Support for major telecommunications standards
  • Packaged architecture
  • prepaid/postpaid convergence
  • Real-time rating and balance management
  • Flexible, configurable rating
  • End-to-end content charging
  • Support for flexible operator business models.

Benefits of the solution

LHS BSCS Version 8 running on the HP Integrity Superdome server with HP-UX 11i version 2 has produced exceptional results in performance testing. The impressive figures for high-volume throughput demonstrate that BSCS and the Integrity Superdome server truly form a best-of-breed solution, comfortably managing the performance requirements for a large Tier 1 communication service provider in a single-node deployment. In addition, since BSCS offers full multi-node support, it is possible to support a large subscriber system by simply adding Integrity Superdome servers to the environment (a 40 million subscriber system is possible today).
